The Company was pleased to welcome the Very Revd Charles Taylor as its new Company Chaplain at the Robing Ceremony on Tuesday 18th July. He subsequently preached at the Robing Service. Mr Richard Hanney was installed as the new Master.
The Master Plaisterer, Terry Wright, himself a ‘Master Plasterer’, displayed his skills alongside Staff and Students from Lincoln College at the Heritage Skills Festival at Lincoln Cathedral, 23rd-24th June 2017.

The Plaisterers’ Company were pleased to be able to make the Hall available for a breakfast attended by the newly announced UK Team for the Invictus Games 2017, to be held in Canada.
The Master greeted HRH Prince Harry and escorted him to the Humber Room where he met members of the team.

The first of a series of Mentoring and Career evenings took place at the Cornwell VC Cadet Centre in East Ham, where our Air Cadets meet, on Monday 16th January. The evening, led by Deputy Master Bill Mahony, was about the food industry. Further information will be found on the Master’s Blog. Future topics covered include Construction, the Armed Forces and general careers advice including CV writing.
Plaisterers’ Hall reopened on Monday 7th November with the hugely successful Training Awards lunch, attended by the Lord Mayor, Alderman Lord Moutevans and over 170 other guests.
At the Autumn Livery Dinner held at Clothworkers’ Hall on Tuesday 4th October, the first donation of the year was made to the Master’s Charity, the British Gymnastics Foundation. A BGF shirt was presented to Liveryman Mike Hannibal who is undertaking the Naukluft Trail in Namibia in aid of BGF.
Thanks to Liveryman Squadron Leader ‘Fozzie’ Foster, 25 Cadets [from our affiliate, 282 (East Ham) ATC] and 9 Liverymen had a memorable day at RAF Brize Norton on Thursday 25th August. The Day included 5 hours experiencing a re-fuelling exercise over the North Sea for Typhoon and Tornado jets.
The Company’s new Master, Terence Wright was installed on Tuesday 19th July. In addition, Richard Hanney and Timothy Cooke OBE were installed as Upper Warden and Renter Warden respectively.
We wish both the Master and the Mistress (his wife Christine) a very successful and enjoyable year.
