Finance & Investment Committee
The Finance & Investment Committee oversees the budgets and investments for the Company. It ensures that an annual budget is set and placed before the Court. The Committee, along with the Clerk, monitors progress against this budget.
In conjunction with the Clerk it sets the costs of events, Quarterage and Fines. It ensures the Company complies with ESG policies and provides a forum for PHL, the Charitable Trust and the Company to consider the Company’s investments.
Industry Committee
The Industry Committee helps maintain links between the Company and the Plastering sector. Its role is to develop relationships with leading organisations involved with, or influencing, the future development of heritage and modern decorative plastering in the UK and, at the same time, with leading contractors and those involved in training within the sector. Once a year it hosts the Plaisterers Training Awards to recognise excellence within the Industry.
The aim is to maintain the close association of the historic livery with the specialist industry sector to reinforce the Plaisterers contemporary role in helping to support the plastering industry over the long-term.
Livery Committee
The Livery Committee was established to encourage greater fellowship within the Livery, broaden the Livery’s engagement with the Charitable Trust and support the incumbent Master’s informal events programme.
Activities of the Committee are to plan and organise informal in-person and virtual events for the Livery as well as actively engaging with all current and new members of the Company.
Master & Wardens Committee
This Committee enables the Master and Wardens to get to know each other better and to familiarise each other with their respective roles, particular for the Upper Warden and Renter Warden to discuss with the Master the role that they will one day take up.
The Committee considers all up and coming events with a view to seeing how they can be improved and made more enjoyable for the livery as a whole. The Committee looks at opportunities for wives, husbands and partners of the Master and Wardens to attend events.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee exists to oversee current and future membership of the Company. It reviews applications, interviews prospective members and encourages fraternity throughout the Company.
From hosting New Members' evening, encouraging more Freemen of the Company through to welcoming new Liverymen, establishing the Plaisterers' Young Livery Group and supporting members through the role of the Almoner, this Committee connects all aspects of the Livery.
Marketing Committee
The role of the Marketing Committee is to support the Court and Clerk promoting and improving awareness and understanding of the Company, whilst keeping the members informed of events and membership opportunities.
This is done through maintaining the website as the most authoritative source of Company information and keeping members up to date through newsletters and social media.
