As we are not able to meet en masse in Plaisterers’ Hall for a while, online events relevant to the Livery have been arranged.

Details will be posted when they are available – and recordings of previous events can be viewed below.

VIRTUAL CHEESE AND WINE TASTING

For those not taking part in dry January, join us for our cheese and wine tasting, tutored by Love Cheese.

UPDATE BRIEFING TO THE LIVERY
28th January 2021 at 6pm

Following on from the successful Master’s update brief last October, the Master would like to invite you to join her on Zoom for a second update briefing and questions session.

The Master will say a few words of welcome and share any decisions made at the January Court.  We then have three speakers:

  • PM Tim Cooke (Chairman, Membership Committee) who will speak about the results of the Membership Survey.
  • Megan Manzi will talk about the Young Livery Group (YLG) and her exciting plans for them.
  • Deputy Master, Alderman Alison Gowman, who will be going forward for election to Sheriff later this year, has kindly agreed to speak about what that means to her and to the Company.

VIRTUAL CAROL SERVICE
2nd December 2020 at 6pm

In spite of all of the restrictions the Plaisterers’ Company prepared for Christmas by offering all members the opportunity to ‘attend’ our Virtual Carol Service on Wednesday 2nd December at 6pm.

The Service was conducted by our Honorary Chaplain, The Very Revd Charles Taylor and included contributions from The Revd Paul Kennedy (from our parish church St Vedast-alias-Foster) and our choristers at both Peterborough Cathedral and St Paul’s Cathedral.

HELEN FRY TALKS ABOUT HER BOOK ON M19:
A History of the Secret Service for Escape and Evasion in World War II
19th November 2020 at 6pm

Helen Fry is a well known British historian, lecturer and biographer who has written a number of books on the Second World War including; “The Walls Have Ears: The Greatest Intelligence Operation of WWII”.

Helen is also the go to Historian for advice for a number of documentaries, including David Jason’s Secret Service for Channel 5, she can be heard regularly on radio and TV commentaries, particularly surrounding events in Normandy. We are very fortunate that she has kindly agreed to come and speak to the Plaisterers about her latest book.

PHL – UPDATE BRIEF TO THE LIVERY
29th October 2020
The Master and Past Master Robert Dalrymple, as the Chairman of PHL, brought the Livery up to date with a few Court decisions and the effect the Pandemic is having on the Company.

They were joined by Past Master Peter Baker, the Charity Steward, to answer questions on the Charity.
