Industry Committee

The Plaisterers Industry Committee helps to develop relationships with leading organisations involved with the future development of dry lining and plastering in the UK. The committee has a particular interest in preserving craft skills in the heritage and modern decorative plastering sectors.

We work closely with leading contractors, manufacturers and those involved in training within the sector.

The purpose is to maintain the close association of the historic livery with this specialist industry sector so that we can reinforce the contemporary role of Plaisterers in helping to support the plastering industry.

This committee is a campaigning voice in the plastering sector and helps to support standards, established over many hundreds of years, so that they are maintained through robust craft training in a manner that is appropriate for the needs of a historic and modern craft that plays an integral part in the built environment.

An important and high-profile element of the work of the committee is the organisation of the annual Plaisterers’ Training Awards which recognise the highest standards of achievement in training and education within the UK plastering trade. Find out more about the Training Awards.
