It was a great pleasure to welcome the Chief Commoner, Deputy Henry Pollard, and his wife, Michelle, as guests at our recent Livery dinner.

Established in 1444, the office of the Chief Commoner is a prestigious and vital role within the City of London Corporation, serving as the "defender of the rights and privileges" of the Common Councilmen and acting as their foremost representative within the City.

Key aspects of the role include:

Civic Leadership: the Chief Commoner provides counsel to members and upholds the discipline and integrity of the Court.

Hospitality & Protocol: They take the lead on matters of City Corporation hospitality.

The Civic Team: The Chief Commoner works closely with the Lord Mayor and the Policy Chairman, supporting high-profile City events and representing the Corporation.
