What a wonderful return to the Hall on Tuesday 5th October with our Annual Banquet and celebration of the 50th anniversary of laying the Hall foundation stone.
Over 260 members of the Company and their guests were joined by representatives from our military affiliations, including the Royal Marines and our naval ship, HMS DRAGON and by Mr Paul Jackson, the Trusts and Foundation Manager for The Children’s Society, the Master’s Charity for this year.
We were also delighted to welcome author Helen Fry who had given an excellent presentation via Zoom during lockdown about her book MI9: A History of the Secret Service for Escape and Evasion in World War Two and Sophie Parker, granddaughter of Odette Hallowes GC, a member of SOE during WWII and President of our affiliate cadet unit 282 (East Ham) Squadron Air Cadets, who provided an excellent Carpet Guard to welcome all those attending.
We were honoured our guest speaker, was able to attend and we all enjoyed delicious food by CH&Co and entertainment from Beverley Stone. It was wonderful to be back enjoying the Hall!
