A wet London Marathon walk!

A wet London Marathon walk!

On Sunday Plaisterers Hall played host and water stop to a Freeman Michael Shirley and other members of 282 (East Ham) Squadron who were walking their 26.2 miles during the virtual London Marathon.

Michael had very generously selected the Masters Charity, The Children’s Society, as the recipient of any funds he raised.  Thank you to all who contributed.

We would say that the day dawned bright, but as most of you know it actually rained all day, so at midday the Clerk (and Rachel) welcomed 11 slightly bedraggled but cheerful walkers. They rewarmed, rehydrated and re-chocolated(!) before venturing outback into the rain for the second half of their walk.  It was a pleasure to see them and to play a little part in their marathon walk.
