The Plaisterers are affiliated to 282 East Ham Air Training Cadet squadron. A few years ago they wanted to start a band and the Plaisterers helped them in buying a selection of musical instruments. With some expert help but mostly self taught the unit grew in confidence and musical ability. This year they won the National Air Training best band. Whilst this was a great accolade they were missing saxophones! Liveryman Heather Morley, who is a saxophonist, generously agreed to remedy this and donated an alto and tenor sax to the band which was presented last night. The band were thrilled to receive this on the eve of the Regional Heats in this year’s competition. The Plaisterers are delighted to further cement the links which include mentoring and serving on the civilian committee.
